Every day, we have a variety of energies bombarding us from within and outside of us. They are subtle yet consistent micro-perceptions that are what makes our human experience so complex.
To heal the stuck feeling, I have come up with a simplified description of these energies, sorting them into three general areas. First imagine your body with an Inner Space (IS) filled by habits, beliefs, the subconscious and self-protective emotions (fear) created from all our experiences that drive most of our decisions. Second, imagine a Connected Space (CS) suspended farther away from your body representing the conscious mind, physical, and emotional connections with others, ambitions, and ego. Third, the Eternal Space (ES) an infinite expansiveness interwoven through the physical/spiritual energy on Earth and the Universe. This is where our soul makes choices (Karma), spiritual life, time, and the higher self lives.
When you feel stuck, you may get frustrated and lose confidence in your ability to control your circumstances and your will power to do anything about it.
Sure, you say, but I know exactly why I am stuck!! It's my spouse, my job, my lack of money, my kids, etc. Maybe it is or maybe you don't know where to start. Our subconscious mind (the driving force around behaviors) is sneaky, it can convince us that the reason we need to change is because of something outside of us, but that may just be a distraction from the real reason.
Step 2 Exercise: It's important to look at the facts so you know where to explore healing. Start today by keeping track of events when you get down or discouraged. First, get a notebook, even loose paper will do. Now call it something positive and silly like "journal of awareness" to make it light. This step is super important and will give you valuable knowledge, as long as you are honest with yourself!
Write down the time of day you became irritated, down or restless and next to it any circumstances, who was involved, etc. If you are at work, try to jot things down so you don't forget the details, note exactly what you were feeling. What part of your body reacted? Sometimes it's a delayed response from an incident earlier in the day that has caught up to you. Write any notions that may seem a little crazy, trust in your abilities to sort through it all. Now I want you to guess at what energetic space that I described earlier it involves. Perhaps it is Inner (IS) because you felt fear, or the Connected (CS) because you dealt with a power struggle or the Eternal (ES) because you are questioning your spirituality, whatever it is, it's ok to guess at this point if your not sure. As you observe your reactions for at least a week, you may notice patterns. Do the events relate to one another or to one person? Did you make assumptions about who would irritate you? Are you responsible? Are you avoiding the reality of the situation by escaping into unhealthy behaviors like eating too much, drugs or alcohol? The point is to become conscious of the root issue and how you got here.
As you journal and continue to hold the newly formed image of an ideal self in your mind from Step 1, notice if your ideal self changes. You may notice surprising emotions, which is actually a good sign, because that means you are on your way out of being stuck.
